The eagle-eye (EFCC) allegedly reveals governor’s name who built $3m hotel with Paris Club refund

According to the eagle-eye, EFCC officials in Lagos, the governor who diverted $3m to constructing of hotel building with Paris club refund to Nigerian states is Governor Abubakar Yari of Zamfara state.

Sahara Reporters reported that, the governor who is the chairman of the Governor’s Forum was said to have illicitly diverted N19billion allegedly meant for "consultants" from the Paris club loan refund.

The hotel building project is said to be a 100-room building located in Lekki area of Lagos. Also the anti-graft agency is said to be prepared to take over the hotel when the court order is obtained.

The Governor Yari as well allegedly diverted N500 million from the Paris Club refund to pay off a loan, which he withdrew from the N19 billion Paris Club refund from the account of Nigeria Governors Forum.

Yari was said to have transferred the sum to the mortgage bank from which he had borrowed N800m to purchase the properties in 2013.

It was gathered that the governor had allegedly renegotiated his debt from N800m to N500m…and which he has paid off. Meanwhile, the total amount the governor is said to have allegedly looted is N2.2 billion from the N19billion set aside illicitly to pay "consultants."

In the interim, when report came out that EFCC officials have traced $3 million of the controversial London-Paris Club loan refund to a governor, Nigerians were angry to know that he allegedly used the money for a hotel building project.
