Nigerian Actress Mercy Johnson steals show at Benin Glo Laffta Fest

The Benin City edition of the Glo Laffta Fest, Nigeria’s leading comedy brand was held at the Flamingo Hall of Best Western, over the weekend. The event host a lot of dignitaries including the deputy governor of Edo state, Right Honourable Philip Shuaibu and his wife and others.


Meanwhile, Mercy Johnson, married to an Edo man, stole the show on appearing on stage as she was greeted with a standing ovation by some of the audience who yelp in exhilaration.

The show, which also has been held before now in nine major cities, hosted some of the Naija brightest and best comedians who serenaded the Benin audience for over five hours. The stellar comedians included Basketmouth...

I Go Dye; master story-teller, Bovi Ugboma, Uganda’s funniest man, Salvador; Acapella; musical comedy exponent, Kenny Blaq and Benin-based comic star, Maleke. All the comedians proved their mettle and got attendees reeling with bouts of laughter.
