The Senate President, Bukola Saraki,
has reacted to the Areya youth threats as well as growing ethnic agitations in the
northern. He advocates the need for all Nigerians to always tolerate each other
and show understanding.
The Senate leader said that Nigeria's
greatest strength and selling point from the rest of the world lies in her
numeric number and ethnicity diversity, which demands that the country’s’ unity
be guarded carefully.
Bukola Saraki dropped this hint when
the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern
States and Abuja, led by its Chairman, Rev. Yakubu Pam paid him a courtesy visited
at the National Assembly in Abuja.
In the same vein, the Northern
Governors forum had also in her reaction on Wednesday, June 7 distanced its
forum from the Areya Youths. The Borno State Governor and Chairman of the 19
Northern States Governors’ Forum, Kashim Shettima spoke on behalf of the other
governors in Maiduguri.
Governor Kashim Shettima said that
they are in touch with security agencies head and as such had put some measures
in place aimed at guaranteeing the rights of every Nigerians to live in the
Northern states in the three geo-political zones that make up the north.
