Anambra state government reacts to allegation that military officers are injecting school children with Monekypox virus

The Anambra state government has reacted to rumor being peddled by IPOB members that military officers in the state have forcefully entered some schools to inject students with the monkeypox virus.

A statement released by the secretary to the state government, Solo Chukwulobelu, says the military officers were in some schools in Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area to carry out free medical outreach.

However, some mischief-makers created tension in the area by alledging that the soldiers were there to inject the students with the virus. That prompted parents to rush to the schools to pick their children and wards.

The state government says it has reached out to the military to suspend the medical outreach for the time being pending when residents of the state are fully sensitized. The government also advised parents to stop picking their children from schools.
