A deadly bomb attack in a busy area of the Somali capital, Mogadishu has reportedly killed at least 30 persons, police say.

Several others were reportedly injured when a lorry ladden with explosives detonated near the entrance of a hotel.

According to the Police, two people were killed in a second bomb attack in the Madina area of the city, BBC report.

However, it's not clear who is responsible for the attacks. Mogadishu is being a regular target for the al-Qaeda linked al-Shabab group, which is battling the government.

Police captain, Mohamed Hussein told Reuters news agency after the first blast that "It was a truck bomb. There are casualties but we do not know the exact amount as the scene is still burning."
